Whilst known as Barcelona’s only nudist beach, Mar Bella attracts as many gay sunbathers who prefer to keep that tackle undercover as those who are happy to let it all hang out.  This is usually the most popular ‘gay’ beach but it is also the furthest from the city centre.

Located right next to Mar Bella beach is “El Chiringay de la Mar Bella”, an iconic bar & restaurant has become internationally renowned as the focal point of gay beach life in Barcelona. The restaurant offers a decent range of light dishes, salads, hot baguettes and a selection of more substantial main dishes.  The bar offers a great choice of cocktails, protein shakes and juices.  During the evening, the bar plays host to many events throughout the summer months.

How to get there

You will either need to take a taxi or the Metro to Poble Nou or Selva De Mar (Yellow Line – L4) and then walk for about 20 minutes.  Alternatively, catch bus 41 and alight at Parc esportiu de la Mar Bella. Last updated: 07-16-2018
