Scenic Sentosa

Sentosa is popular island resort and the fourth largest island in Singapore, with an area of about 5 km.  It is located just half a kilometre from the southern coast of the Singapore mainland.

The island attracts around five million visitors per year, offering beautiful views, fabulous  luxury hotels, two golf courses and three beaches.  It is also home to the famous Resorts World Sentosa which includes Marine Life Park, the world’s largest oceanarium, and Universal Studios theme park.

Beaches on Sentosa

The three beaches on Sentosa are Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach and Tanjong Beach.  These artificial beaches lie on the southern coast and are about two kilometres long

Siloso Beach is a popular place for beach volleyball and other outdoor activities.  There are restaurants and shops along the beach.  The Beach Station of Sentosa Express monorail is located in Palawan Beach which is in the centre of the coast and features several dining options and bars.

Tanjong Beach is a relatively quiet and more secluded part of the island.  The beach is frequented by gay visitors and sunbathers, particular on Sundays.

To reach Sentosa from the Singapore mainland, you can take the cable car or the monorail to Beach Station.  The other option is to walk over the Sentosa Boardwalk which is parallel to the causeway.
